Build new skills or hone existing ones
YPRL offers a variety of programs and networking opportunities to strengthen and support local small businesses, both new and established.
Throughout the year we offer a variety of business-focused programming sessions to support our community. Recent programming themes have included topics such as creating marketing plans, web design, building professional skills using LinkedIn Learning, creating professional business plans, and building a social media presence. These programs have also encouraged various formal and informal networking opportunities.
YPRL’s eLearning resources are available 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. LinkedIn Learning is a great way to learn something new. You can choose from thousands of online courses to learn in-demand skills from real-world industry experts. Courses cover a variety of topics including business skills, design and web development, and multimedia skills and software programs including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and open source applications. Our eLearning resources can help users pursue both personal and professional goals in their own time.
Our libraries are a great place to connect and meet with people to complete projects, work and meetings. At all of our branches, we offer free WiFi and provide public access to computers every day. Our regular public computers are usually available up to 8 hours per day and run current Microsoft Office software applications. Printing, scanning and photocopying services can be accessed for a fee. Computers located in some of our Maker Spaces run specialised software including Adobe Creative Cloud 2021, video editing, graphic design, game development and much more. All YPRL branches offer quiet or semi noise restricted areas for study and work and in certain branches, you can even book a quiet room for private meetings either for free (within certain time frames) or at a modest cost.
Our Maker Spaces are a fantastic resource for small businesses and entrepreneurs and enable users to build new skills or hone existing ones and make connections with like-minded contacts. We also provide a great range of resources and guides to support users through their learning journey. Explore books and resources from our collection, or dive directly into learning via LinkedIn Learning. We have also put together some helpful guides to help you turn your creative pursuit into a career.
