Located next door to the Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre, you’ll find the Thomastown Library. A large and bright place with a spacious children’s area, a special feature of our library is the public artworks that were commissioned as part of an extensive refurbishment in 2005.
Since opening in 1993, Thomastown library has become the heart of the local community. Collocated within the same building as Maternal Children Health Services, Thomastown Neighbourhood House, and Aurora Disabilities Support Services, our library offers a rich and engaging range of programming and library collections to choose from.
Community rooms and a computer training room are available for hire by groups and individuals to meet, socialise, and learn. And you’ll also find a state-of-the-art Textiles and Craft Maker Space along with our Maker Space lending library, outdoor woodland garden and courtyard, computer room, and study areas. We are so excited to introduce you the new addition of desks with attached playpens. An innovative desk design to improve computer and internet access for parents and caregivers.
Our collection includes languages such as Arabic, Italian, Macedonian, Turkish and Vietnamese, alongside children's and adults books, magazines, and DVDs ready to be borrowed.
