The Diamond Valley Library is now closed for renovations until mid-winter. We've opened a Click & Collect service from the nearby council office.

Maker Spaces

YPRL’s Maker Spaces present opportunities to create, connect, collaborate and learn in a fun and supported environment. They have been designed to empower our diverse communities to participate in creative and entrepreneurial activities and learning opportunities.

Hands-on Learning and Creativity

Generally speaking, a maker space is “a place in which people with shared interests can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge”. YPRL’s Maker Spaces present members with opportunities to create, connect, collaborate, and learn in a fun and supported environment. Well-appointed with specialist resources and equipment, our Maker Spaces facilitate hands-on learning and encourage creativity.

YPRL currently offers six different Maker Spaces across our library branches and two portable maker spaces that travel between locations. Below is a description of each Maker Space, with information about what you can do and make at each one.

Information on the sessions, workshops and events run by the Maker Space teams can be found in the events brochure, under the events listings on the website, or by speaking to one of the relevant library’s friendly staff. Some events may require bookings.
