YPRL has a range of maker space kits that members can borrow
Ever needed some equipment to finish a project? The Maker Space Library is here to help. We’ve got a range of equipment to help with projects from woodworking and DIY to screen printing, paper making, weaving and sewing.
Each kit can be borrowed for 3 weeks to help complete your project. You receive a set of instructions with your Maker Space Library equipment that contains information about our library collection for inspiration, YouTube video links for further education, safety tips and instructions on how to use the equipment.
Craft & Tools
- Large Screen Printing Frame and Squeegee: perfect for printing fabric patterns.
- Medium Screen Printing Frame and Squeegee: A3 size frame that is great for medium-sized projects.
- Small Screen Printing Frames and Squeegee: each kit is A4 size, great for tee-shirt printing and small projects.
- Tool Kits: Beginner tools kits that offers 73 pieces, including a hammer, allen keys, screwdrivers and multiple pieces. Great for home projects!
- Embroidery Hoops: We have two sizes – 20cm and 12cm – for you to take home.
- Paper-Making Kit: Each paper-making kit has three parts, allowing you make envelopes or letter paper.
- Hand Block Printing Press: Borrow our printing press to professionally print your own linocut prints from home.
- Sewing Kits: Our sewing kits contain a collection of essential hand sewing equipment. From rotary cutters and fabric scissors to hand sewing needles, pins, measuring tapes and a sewing un-picker.
Items can be borrowed and returned in person at Thomastown Library, 52 Main St, Thomastown, during opening hours
Podcasting Kit
If you’ve got a great idea for a podcast, we have the gear to help you get started. YPRL has two podcasting kits available to borrow, each containing the equipment you’ll need to record, edit, and finish your first podcast: 2 x Microphones, 2 x Monitoring headphones, an audio interface, and an iPad.
