A Place for Collection, Connection and Community

The new Heidelberg West Library, situated inside Olympic Leisure Banyule, will be a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant space for everyone — a place to read, learn, connect, create and belong.

At the heart of the library will be a diverse and relevant collection, providing something for everyone. From books to digital resources, children’s and young people’s collections that reflect the experiences, interests and stories of the local community, the library will support discovery, learning and a lifelong love of reading.

Our new library is more than its collection. It will be a place for connection — where people can meet, share ideas, have a conversation, participate in programs, learn something new or simply enjoy being part of their community. Whether attending a Storytime, joining a program, accessing technology, studying, working, meeting a friend or finding a quiet place to read, everyone will have a reason to feel welcome.

Heidelberg West is a diverse community, and the library will listen to, partner with and respond to the people who live, work, learn and connect in the area. Through community partnerships, programs, events and opportunities for participation, the library will create space for local voices, cultures, stories and ideas.

We want Heidelberg West Library to feel like a community living room — a safe, welcoming and accessible place where people can come as they are, feel a sense of belonging and make meaningful connections.
