The YPRL Library of Things allows you to access useful items and share resources that you might only need occasionally. Whether you want to try a gadget before you buy it, or you just need a tool for a one-time weekend project, we are here to help you save money and reduce waste.
Borrowing from the Library of Things is easy, but a little different from borrowing books. The following conditions ensure items stay complete and are ready for the next person to enjoy.

Borrowing Conditions and FAQs
Who can borrow these items?
- A valid YPRL membership card is required
- Borrowers must be 16+ to borrow Library of Things items
How does it work?
BORROWING
- You may borrow up to 3 items at a time.
- You may borrow for a 2 week loan period.
- Items can only be borrowed (and returned) during staffed hours at the branch.
RETURNING
- Items must be returned directly to a staff member. Do not put items into the after-hours chutes.
- Items must be returned to the same branch that they were collected.
- Upon return, staff will check the kit to ensure all parts are included – please allow extra time for borrowing or returning these items.
Care of Items
- Borrowers are responsible for the safe use of items
- Items MUST be returned clean, in good condition and with all parts
- Damaged or missing parts may result in charges and/or borrowing restrictions
- Items do not include batteries
