New Opening Hours

YPRL Staff

4 January, 2021

Yarra Plenty Regional Library along with the Banyule City Council, the Nillumbik Shire Council, and the City of Whittlesea Council are pleased to announce that we have extended the opening hours of every one of YPRL's branches. From Monday 4 January, each of our branches will open from 9.00am Monday – Friday with extended hours in the evenings and on weekends for our largest branches.

This follows from community consultation where we received 1.923 responses that showed a strong desire for increased opening hours for library services across the region. This included a large number of people requesting that we extend opening hours on Sundays as well as an earlier opening time each day.

Our extended library hours will enable families and individuals to better access library services when it suits them and when they feel most comfortable.

- Robyn Ellard, YPRL Executive Manager, Public Participation

We have listened to this feedback and extended opening hours for each of our branches, with earlier opening times during the working week and extended hours in the evening and on weekends across our largest branches. All up, over 60 additional hours of library services will be provided each week across the region when compared to this time last year. You can find the details for your local branch using the links below.

YPRL is pleased to be able to extend the opening hours of these branches thanks to funding provided by Banyule City Council, the Nillumbik Shire Council, and the City of Whittlesea Council.
