Find My Past (FMP) is sometimes considered the "little cousin" to Ancestry and is among the Genealogy Giants in the Family History World. YPRL members have access to both resources in the form of the Library Editions, both of which provide access to world wide collections.

Visit the library to explore.  Use one of our PCs or bring your own laptop and access via our wi-fi. Be sure to bring your names and dates and a research goal for your research session.

What can you find on Find My Past? Record collection examples include:

  • Australian Births and Baptisms, 1792-1982
  • Australian Marriages, 1916-1980
  • Australian Deaths and Burials, 1916-1980
  • Victoria Funeral Notices, 1981-1997
  • Victoria Petty Session Registers
  • Victoria Police Gazettes
  • Convict Transportation Registers 1787-1879
  • Names in Government Gazettes 1848-1900
  • New Zealand Electoral Rolls 1853-1864

With over 900 million names, FMP has one of the most complete records of civil registration records for the United Kingdom.  There are also records covering, New Zealand, Ireland and the United States.
