With her debut title The Dry Jane Harper exploded onto the Australian writing scene, bringing global interest into crime writing set in Australia. The Melbourne Author received many accolades for her debut and has continued to provide us with some excellent stories.

Garry Disher

Garry Disher has published over 60 highly praised and award-winning novels. Best known for his Wyatt series about a master thief in Melbourne as well as the Peninsula Crime Book series about Waterloo cops Hal Challis and Ellen Destry on the Mornington Peninsula.  He has also seen success with his stand-alone novels including Sanctuary and Under the Cold Bright Lights.

Margaret Hickey

Bestselling author and true crime podcaster Vikki Patraitis is coming to discuss her new book: The Vanishing of Vivienne Cameron: Forty Years Searching for the Philip Island Murderer. 

In 1986 on Phillip Island, a young woman called Beth Barnard was savagely murdered and her boyfriend’s wife, Vivienne Cameron, went missing. The police immediately jumped to what they thought was the obvious conclusion: in a jealous rage, Vivienne had killed Beth and then herself. Vivienne’s body was never found. But Vikki Petraitis wasn’t convinced. 

Vikki will also talk about some of her other well-known true cases and her career in crime writing including Stolen and The Unbelieved
