Thomastown and Whittlesea Libraries are now only open for Click & Collect services. Please see location pages for opening hours.

All our other branches now close by 7.00pm Monday – Thursday. Please be aware that further changes to opening hours may occur at short notice.

Masks are mandatory in the library for anyone over the age of 8, unless an exemption applies.

Anyone over 18 entering a YPRL branch will also need to show proof of double vaccination.

Density limits apply.

Please note that all branches and services will be closed on Wednesday 26 January 2022 for the Australia Day public holiday.

YPRL COVID-19 Update: January 2022

Due to staff shortages linked to the recent increase in local COVID-19 cases Thomastown Library will be closed (from 13 January) and will offer only contactless Click & Collect services Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, and Saturday, 10.00am to 5.00pm, until the situation improves. 

All other branches will remain open at this stage, but will close earlier, at 7.00pm, Monday to Thursday (with Whittlesea and Diamond Valley to close earlier on some days). Please check the location page of your local branch for detailed opening hours.

Please be aware that further changes to opening hours may occur at short notice.

The Mobile Library remains off the road due to their scheduled summer closure.

The Hurstbridge Community Hub Click & Collect service and the Donnybrook Pop-up Hub will also continue to operate 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday.

Our 24/7 return chutes remain open and users may continue to place holds on the collection.

There have also been some changes made to our planned in-person programs and events, please check your email for any cancellation notifications. YPRL continues to offer a range of online programming.

We will continue to offer our full eLibrary collection which can be accessed through our website and through the YPRL app. It includes eBooks, eAudio, magazines, films and much more.
