All our branches will be closed and the Mobile Library will be off the road on Thursday 25 April 2024.

We’re Back!

YPRL Staff

10 November, 2020

With restrictions easing in metropolitan Melbourne, we're excited that YPRL branches can now welcome you back into the libraries!

The new Ivanhoe Library will not open until December, however, we will continue to offer Click & Collect out of The Hatch in Ivanhoe.

Text reads: You've spoken, we've listened! Ivanhoe Library is now operating click and collect from Ivanhoe Hatch Artspace. A map of the location is shown.

The Hurstbridge Hub Click & Collect service continues as it does on the Mobile Library.

We’re pleased to be able to take this first step in seeing everyone in person again but our library services will be delivered a little differently while restrictions are still in place. All visitors must follow State Government safety guidelines, please do not come to the library if you are feeling unwell.

Currently, we are limited in the number of people allowed in the library at a time, so we encourage each household to choose a library hero to browse our collection and select items for the entire household. For those not confident in being a library hero for their household, you can rely on us! Let us know what your household's needs are and our trained library staff will put together a Family Fun Bundle for you to pick up as part of our Click & Collect service.

Text reads: be a library hero, have 1 family member enter the library and pick up books for your family

There is no need to book, but as we are only able to welcome 10 people at a time, we are also asking everyone to limit their visit to 1 hour and once per day. Please be patient if there is a queue. Each library will have a concierge who will greet you on arrival and provide all the assistance and direction you need to complete your visit. You will be required to wear a mask and your contact details will be recorded for tracing purposes. Please don’t bring food or drink (water excepted) into the library during this time. And please don’t visit if you feel unwell.

When you are in the library you can join, browse, borrow, or print. For now, we are not offering newspapers or meeting rooms in our libraries. We are working within government regulations and will have these services open to you as soon as we can. Please follow our Facebook page and sign up for our e-news for more information.

Branches will be open between 10.00am to 2.00pm and 3.00pm to 6.00pm* Monday to Thursday and 10.00am to 2.00pm and 3.00pm to 5.00pm Friday and Saturday**. Branches are closed from 2.00pm to 3.00pm each day to facilitate cleaning.
