Across the month of May, our community partners have several courses to help with your small business. From improving your digital skills to networking with other local businesses, there is something to support every small business.

City of Banyule

In May, the City of Banyule is offering:

Banyule Small Business Mentoring Session
Tuesday 3 May | 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Small Business Mentoring Service (SBMS) aims to support businesses that are situated within the City of Banyule.
These Small Business Clinics can help:

  • answer your business questions and provide clarity
  • focus on marketing, planning or financial issues
  • assist to explore business options and opportunities.

Strategies to Advance your Online Business

Banyule Council and Nillumbik Council combine forces with Monarch Education to deliver these fundamental in-person workshops. This in-person workshop is designed to give you the knowledge, strategies and tools to grow your business online.

During May, the City of Whittlesea is offering:

Women in Business Networking Event
Wednesday 11 May | 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Join like-minded businesswomen at the annual Women in Business event. Maria Pellicano, who runs a singing and performance training school, and Ange Smith who owns a Digital Marketing Agency will share insights on how to use digital marketing to support your business.

Business Victoria offers free online business advice sessions to help you start or grow your small business. Available Monday to Friday (until 30 June), these one-on-one sessions are with a business expert and will provide information on your business idea or how to grow your existing business.

Neighbourhood Houses

Our neighbourhood houses across Banyule, Whittlesea and Nillumbik are dedicated to supporting life-long learning. Here are a selection of some of the workshops being hosted during March to support small businesses.

Banyule: Diamond Valley Learning Centre

Digital Essentials Level 1 is a pre-accredited program that is designed to help learners understand the basics of various areas of technology, including different digital devices, their functionality and the ways people can use these devices to connect with others and access services over the Internet.

City of Whittlesea: Lalor Living & Learning Centre

Lalor Living & Learning Centre has a dedicated classroom for courses and activities in information technology, digital media and basic computing. If you want to learn how to use your new computer or device, we may be able to help you with access to our facilities or with a short course.

Nillumbik Shire: Living and Learning Nillumbik

Computer tutoring 1:1 is available through the Nillumbik Living and Learning Centres.
