School holidays are nearly here – WOOHOO!
A couple of weeks off school – hopefully not too much homework, time enough to get bored, and time to go the library.
You might know already that we run school holiday events for kids at Yarra Plenty Regional Library (YPRL). But did you know that you don’t need to come into the library for all our events?
Sometimes we come to you!
We are venturing ‘out and about’ for some of Winter school holiday activities. Check out if we are coming near you and be sure to book in!
These are the ones that still have some spaces left:
Get your photo taken at a Pop-Up Green Screen at Mill Park Leisure Centre on Monday 1 July, 2.00pm—4.00pm. Choose an image and become the star of the scene! You can be a superhero, explore nature, float through space, and much more.
On Wednesday 3 July you can connect with creative Annie Valentine who will be riding the Mobile Library all day and helping you make a polymer clay keyring at the stops. There are three sessions on the Mobile Library. No need to book, just drop in!
- St Andrews: 9.30am—11.00am
- Kangaroo Ground: 12.00pm—2.00pm
- Diamond Creek: 3.00pm—5.30pm.
On Wednesday 10 July, you can join an Indigenous Hip Hop workshop at Rosanna Fire Station Community house, 10.30am—11.30am. Follow this up with science activities and experiments focusing on Balance and Symmetry at Kirrip Community Centre, Wollert at 2.00pm—3.00pm.
If you’ve still got energy for more, our final activity outside the library is at Thomastown Recreation and Aquatic Centre. There are 4 sessions on Thursday July 11 where you can explore Indigenous Dreamtime with virtual reality. See below for sessions with availability:
Of course, there is our usual full program of activities in our library branches as well.
Happy reading and relaxing!
