This Pride Month, Yarra Plenty Regional Library branches are hosting a range of events for all different ages during the month of June. Get involved, there is something for everyone as we appreciate and celebrate our diverse communities.

Rainbow Storytime! These are special storytimes about inclusion and being happy with who you are hosted at Ivanhoe, Mill Park, Eltham and Thomastown Libraries.

Drop-in to Eltham Library and grab a great book (or ten) at their Book Sale to help raise funds for Minus18. All donations will go to Minus18, a group committed to transforming communities through LGBTQIA+ training, resources, and digital campaigns that enable others to champion inclusivity – no matter their location.

Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub will feature two films on our big screen showcasing classic LGBTQI+ films

Mill Park Library is hosting a fun night of Pride trivia with entertainer and comedian, Frock Hudson. Frock Hudson is the queerer alter ego of cabaret comedian and community darling, Dean Arcuri. Bring along your friends, and family and have a 'dragtastic' time!

Luciano and Georgia Keats, supported by the Australian Queer Archives, present Queer-ways: Retracing Melbourne’s Queer Footprint. Queer-ways maps the queer cartography of Melbourne, combining the queer stories and voices of Melbourne past and present into a permanent, interactive record of being queer in Melbourne. The exhibition will be hosted at Thomastown Library’s Textiles & Craft Makerspace for Pride Month in June.

Yarra Plenty Regional Library is proud to honour and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ communities with a diverse array of events and displays, please check our website, and book a place (if required) to avoid missing out.
