Across the month of November, we have a number of programs to inspire and educate makers and artists of all skill levels.

Join us online with experts from City of Whittlesea’s Creative Arts team as they host in-depth workshops on photography, video editing, selling your work online and social media marketing.

YPRL’s Maker Spaces continue to deliver online programs with interactive workshops such as Screen printing with our Maker Library, 3D Printing Basics, and Craft Club.

Photo Editing on a Device

04 November 2021 | 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Learn how to take high-quality photos on your phone and edit them for posting online. This online workshop offers simple tips from experts on how to use the camera on your phone, tablet or other devices. Once you have taken a great photo, you will learn how to edit it on your device and upload it to social media sites such as Facebook or Instagram.
Please note, participants will need a social media account for some activities in this workshop.

Basic Video Editing

11 November 2021 | 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Learn the basics of editing videos on your computer in this introductory workshop. This hands-on session will give you an overview of video editing software. You will learn how to cut, trim and assemble video clips, how to add titles and graphics, and how to prepare your video for sharing online.

3D Printing Basics

16 November 2021 | 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

Interested in 3D printing? Want to learn about how you can access our Maker Space to print your own creations? Come along to this virtual session with a live walkthrough of Ivanhoe's Maker Space and an overview of the basics of creating a 3D printable object!

Screen Printing

16 November 2021 | 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Learn how to decorate your own t-shirt or bag with an awesome screen-printed design. Screen printing is a fun and easy way to add a personal touch to your clothing or accessories.

You can pick up your screen printing kit from your local Yarra Plenty Regional Library branch, then log in to our online workshop to learn how it works. The screen printing kits include paint, a squeegee and a printing frame. We can provide a pre-cut stencil if you need it, or you can cut your own.

You will need your own printing material, such as a t-shirt or canvas bag. You will also need some masking tape and double-sided tape.

Selling Your Work Online

Learn how to get started selling your products online in this introductory workshop. No matter what type of product you want to sell, this session will walk you through the different options available for selling online.
