Lynda is migrating to LinkedIn Learning

10 February, 2021

On 17 February 2021, Lynda.com and the Lynda app will be migrating to LinkedIn Learning. This will be an automated process that will cause a minor disruption to our learning service.

Lynda was home to a library of 7,000 English courses. The migration to LinkedIn Learning sees that library increase to over 16,000 courses, including courses available in French, German, Japanese, Spanish, Mandarin, and Portuguese languages.

You don’t need a LinkedIn profile in order to use LinkedinLearning. Simply access the site using the link provided by YPRL, and log in using your library card and pin. Because personally identifiable data is not captured by LinkedinLearning, it is especially important that you don’t lose your library card. If you are issued a new library card, you will need to create a brand-new LinkedinLearning account and will lose any previous learning history. To avoid losing your library card, we suggest storing it on your phone.

We hope you will join us in celebrating this migration to LinkedIn Learning and enjoy access to a wide range of additional courses for your personal and professional development.

Here is everything you need to know about the migration:

  • Migration begins on 17 February 2021 and can take up to 24 hours to complete.
  • During the migration, our access to Lynda.com and the Lynda app will be cut off. We suggest that you delete your Lynda app on February 17th and download the LinkedIn Learning app instead.
  • Once migration is complete, you will be able to login to LinkedinLearning via the URL provided by YPRL, or the LinkedIn Learning app using your library card number and pin.
  • Any data you had stored in Lynda, such as saved courses and your learning history, will be transferred to your LinkedIn Learning account automatically.
  • Any Lynda links you had bookmarked on your computer will redirect to LinkedIn Learning until Lynda is shut down completely. We suggest that you replace any bookmarked Lynda links with LinkedIn Learning links as soon as you can to avoid any disruptions.
  • You don’t need a LinkedIn profile in order to use LinkedIn Learning.

Log in to LinkedIn Learning using your library card number and PIN. Please note that you may receive a 'something went wrong' message on your first login attempt. Please try again (this might take a couple of attempts) until it works. We are currently with Linkedin to resolve this issue.

If you have any questions about the migration, please visit the LinkedIn Learning FAQ page or contact us.
