Due to the COVID-19 restrictions currently in place, YPRL branches will only open for contactless Click & Collect services until restrictions ease.

Services will open a little later than normal on Monday – Friday, at 9.30am, and close a little later, at 7.00pm, Monday – Thursday (with Whittlesea and Diamond Valley to close earlier on some days).

Unfortunately the Outreach Vehicle will not be operating throughout the lockdown.

The Mobile Library will offer contactless Click & Collect service from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday - Friday, from various locations.

Our 24/7 return chutes will remain open and all holds and item due dates have been extended until after restrictions end and users may continue to place holds on the collection.

Kids Corner: Bugs in your Backyard

Kids Corner is the place to find fun activities to help entertain the kids!

Age Guide: preschool and primary school

Winter can make it tough to spend large periods of time outside, which makes this nature activity perfect for the chilly weather.

National Museums Scotland have put together instructions on how to create a pitfall trap in your garden (or any available natural space). Set it up, head back inside to warm up and then revisit later in the afternoon or the next day to see what you've captured. You can then observe them, draw them, photograph them, make scientific observations or even bring them inside if you'd like to keep an eye on them for a little while. After your mini scientist has observed all them can, release the creatures back in the same location.

Full instructions on the NMS website.
