Author of Les Misérables, Victor Hugo’s, birthday today (26 Feb 1802)

Les Misérables, the 1862 novel, was made famous thanks in part to various film and musical adaptations (including 49 amazing musical numbers!).

Super simplified storyline: In nineteenth century France, a former convict tries to overcome his past and is asked to raise a prostitute's daughter, while being hounded by a policeman who vows to put him back behind bars.

Victor was a French poet, novelist, and playwright. His literary career spanned more then sixty years and included The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Napoleon the Little, The Man Who LaughsThe History of Crime and many more.
