Library lovers’ day 2024: Discover true love

Most people would love to discover true love.  Maybe you already have; maybe you’re still looking for it; maybe you’re 5 years old so there is still plenty of time!

So, I did some internet searching, asking how to discover your true love, and what are the signs of true love, and guess what, your library meets the criteria every time.

Tip number one is to look for partnerships, not just romance.  That’s a big tick for the library! We encourage our community to come together for friendship, collaboration, and craft.  Though we do also have a great selection of romance novels, from chaste to racy.

The next tip is to be yourself, always.  We welcome everyone at the library.  We welcome you as your true self, without judgement, with acceptance.

Then, love yourself first.  We have lots of resources to help you along your self-love journey.

So, how do you know when you have discovered your true love?

Again, a top tip is that you are accepted for who you are.  And that is one of our prime goals when you visit the library. We are always here for you, open nearly every day of the year, and 24/7 online.  We always have your back; we are always giving, never asking for anything in return - except that you return your books!

Your true love makes you feel safe, be listened to, and there is trust.  Guess what?  The library is a safe place for you, and we trust you, and you can trust us.

But what about that special feeling that love gives? Well, our collections and activities can take you to the stars, up the highest mountains, through the deepest oceans, the hottest desert, the lushest rainforest, all without fear of heartbreak or rejection.  Stick with us and discover true love.

Enemies to Lovers by Amelia Jones

Also available as an eAudio book on BorrowBox.

A wonderfully witty and spicy retelling of Jane Austen's classic tale of enemies to lovers.  Eden Blake is Liz in ‘Liz and Darcy’, a musical adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, and Brennon Thorne is Mr Darcy.  Brennon can't hide his contempt for Eden or anyone who isn't a classically trained actor. But the spotlight is on them.  On stage. Every night. Which always ends with a kiss. As one on-stage kiss leads to another, Eden can't help feeling something else...Could her pretend Mr Darcy actually be the one in real life? Or does that only happen in a Jane Austen novel?

The statistical probability of love at first sight by Jennifer E. Smith

Hadley has never believed in destiny or fate before. But, stuck at the airport in New York, she meets Oliver. He's British. He's cute. And he's on her flight.

Set over twenty-four hours, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

The deepest acceptance : radical awakening in ordinary life by Jeff Foster

In Jeff's words, "The armor we wear to protect ourselves from the full experience of life does not really protect us--it just keeps us comfortably numb."

In The Deepest Acceptance, Jeff provides readers with a series of insights intended to help strip away that armor and embrace life now, as it is and as you are.
