COVID-19 Update: September change to services

YPRL Staff

13 September, 2021

As announced by the Victorian Government, restrictions in Melbourne have been extended. For details on the current restrictions in place, please visit the Coronavirus Victoria website.

Please wear a mask whenever you leave home unless a medical exemption applies. Please get tested if you notice any symptoms, no matter how mild. If you visit any of our branches, it is mandatory that you check in using the QR code in place. Follow the rules and instructions provided by the Government, so we can keep the community protected, as we open up again.

Changes to YPRL services

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions currently in place, all YPRL branches will continue to be open for Click & Collect services only. However, from Tuesday 14 September, all branches will be closing 2.00pm – 3.00pm each day for cleaning and restocking.

Branches will also open a little later than normal on Monday – Friday, at 9.30am, and close a little later, at 7.00pm, Monday – Thursday (with Whittlesea and Diamond Valley to close earlier on some days). Please check the location page of your local branch for detailed opening hours.

Eltham Library will be closed on Thursday 16 September in preparation for changes to its Click & Collect service. It will reopen on Friday 17 September, with Click & Collect services no longer by appointment.

The Mobile Library will continue to offer a static contactless Click & Collect service from 10.00am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday at 30 Main Hurstbridge Road, Diamond Creek (near the Community Centre).

The Hurstbridge Hub Click & Collect service will also continue to operate 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday to Friday.

The Outreach Vehicle will remain closed at this time.

Our 24/7 return chutes remain open and users may continue to place holds on the collection.

All current library reservations have now been automatically extended until 3 October 2021.

At this time, all in-person programs and events remain cancelled. However, YPRL offers a range of online programming.

We will continue to offer our full eLibrary collection which can be accessed online and through the YPRL app. It includes eBooks, eAudio, magazines and films.

All community rooms remain unavailable.

We will also continue our Care BoxFamily Fun Bundles, and Print & Collect services as part of Click & Collect during this time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
