Duck Goes Meow by Juliette MacIver
A delightful picture book where a Duck greets all the other animals with a 'meow'. There are lots of opportunities for the reader and their audience to make fun animals noises and have a discussion about adoption.

City of Fortune by Victoria Thompson
City of Fortune is set in 1919 in New York City and is the sixth book in the Counterfeit Lady Novel series by Victoria Thompson. There are plenty of twists and turns. You could read this novel as a standalone, but I would suggest you read the series from the beginning to understand the characters and history.
If you are looking for another excellent read, and if you enjoyed this book I would recommend you read Victoria Thompson’s Series: Gaslight Mystery.
