Support Local Artists!

Support local emerging artists by visiting exhibitions at your local library!

The glass cabinets at Ivanhoe Library are currently showcasing some artworks and crafts by local artists, and most of these are available to buy.

If you are an art lover or require a thoughtful and original present for a loved one, please come and visit us at the library and have a look at what we have on offer.

Friend of the library Leesa Walsh curated the mini exhibition with contacts she has made through teaching at the U3A and elsewhere, and many of these original pieces have already been sold and taken home by happy customers. The exhibition will be winding up in late November, so there is still time to check it out, choose something you love, and support a local artist.

Silk Scarves

From delicate watercolours to colour-saturated photographs and stunning handmade silk scarves, there are a bunch of items to choose from. Even some wonderful photographs taken by Leesa herself.

All items available for sale have their prices on display and contact details for purchasing. So next time you are at the Ivanhoe Library, head towards the local history room on level one until you see the big glass cabinets and take a moment to enjoy some of the gorgeous artworks on offer.

If you would like to support local artists in the Nillumbik area, check out the Eltham Community Gallery in the Eltham Library foyer. The gallery is a platform for emerging local artists and works are often for sale at very reasonable prices.

Art works are also displayed within the Eltham library. Ceramics, prints, paintings and drawings by local artists can often be found in glass display cabinets around the library. It’s a wonderful opportunity to view and support local artists you may not have yet discovered.
