Children’s language and literacy skills - It’s something constantly on the mind of parents as they guide their children through their early years, from tongue-ties and stuttering, to knowing what milestones they should be hitting. There is a lot of information out there on what and when families should be doing to help their kids, but sorting through it all can be overwhelming.
That’s why in November YPRL are hosting free sessions as part of the Speechie Library Talks run by Speech Pathology Australia.
These sessions are designed to allow you to meet a local speech pathologist, enjoy a reading of one of ‘Speech Pathology Australia’s Book of the Year’ winning books and find out more about how you can support your child’s language and literacy development at home.
The sessions are for three age ranges and are run online.
0-3 Years: 4th November 10.30-11.30am
3-5 Years: 11th November 10.30 – 11.30am
5-8 Years: 10th November – 5-6pm
And while you’re waiting for the event, check out some of last year’s SPA award winners on shelf now and waiting to be read:
Birth to 3 years: Meerkat Splash - Aura Parker
Three to 5 years: Charlie’s Shell - Marina Zlatanova
Five to 8 years: Goat on a Boat - Nick Dent
