The University of the Third Age Banyule in partnership with the Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub are offering an opportunity to sign up for a regular weekly music class, where likeminded people will meet to have a ‘jam session’ under the guidance of highly skilled professional musician Jimmy Fong. If you have ever wanted to present a song using an instrument but lacked some confidence, then this might be the class you need to take your skills to the next level.
Participants are expected to have some experience in playing an acoustic instrument such as: acoustic guitar, violin, double bass, flute, saxophone, bongos, oud, yang qing, hammer, dulcimer, and will need a basic knowledge of their instrument. If you can play at least two songs proficiently without looking at scores, then it is considered a basic knowledge.
Please express your interest in this course before 15 April.
Upon enrolment, you will be contacted by Jimmy, as you will need to audition before starting.
Attendance is free for YPRL members.
For further questions and to register your interest please contact: Sharon Karasmanis email: smkarasmanis@gmail.com phone: 0448 260 650
