11 March, 2021

This year, YPRL is celebrating International Women’s Day all week! The theme for 2021 is Choose to Challenge.

As we celebrate women’s achievements, this blog post highlights artists.

Wikimedia Australia recently partnered with the Women’s Art register and Yarra Libraries for an edit-a-thon to amplify the biographies of women on Wikipedia working with the online and hard copy archive at Richmond Library.

Clara Southern was a member of the Heidelberg School who established an artistic community in Warrandyte.

YPRL Staff will be participating in the #1lib1ref campaign again this May, when Librarians are asked to add citations to Wikipedia articles to help improve the largest general reference source on the internet.

Be sure to visit the other posts in this blog series — we'll be publishing one each day throughout the week.

You can also visit our curated list on the catalogue for recommended reading from our collection to celebrate International Women's Day 2021.
