5 amazing things you can do with books purchased at the YPRL Seasonal Book Sale!
1. Read ‘em (of course, duh)!
The best thing about getting a bargain at our seasonal book sale is that you can read the book at home and at your own pace. Heaven! Of course, you can always re-gift your book to a friend or even a street library. If it’s a treasure, keep it in your bookshelf for regular revisiting later.
2. Books make great gifts
Our book sale items are all in reasonable quality and there are lots of recently published items too! A perfect gift for a loved one, and you can be slightly smug, safe in the knowledge that you have helped the library with their sustainable practice.
3. Insta-worthy book stacks!
We’ve all seen the artful book stacks adorning gorgeous apartments on various Instagram accounts and in design magazines. Well, guess what? You can achieve this too! Your home will look amazing, creative, and colourful! As a bonus, you’ll look super intellectual when friends visit or on WFH calls (impress the boss). You can arrange by colour, size or even title (create your own Spine Poetry). There are loads of inspirational pages online, search ‘Insta-worthy Book Stacks’ and let the creativity flow.
4. Get crafty
Older books (already perused) can make fabulous opportunities for craft projects for both kids and adults alike. Think collages, paper mobiles, decoupage, creative journaling, origami, folded book art, Papier-mâché, anonymous love letters and so much more! Get creative and go for it!
5. Prop up your… WFH computer set-up, in-door plant needing some extra height, stable table for lazy TV dinners and the list goes on!
We’ve all been here. Last minute, you simple need a bunch of things to make something taller, usually a make-shift laptop WFH desk set-up (in my case at least)! Books make propping things up easy!
Hopefully you get the point, there are so many things you can do with your ex-library book! Please give them a new home and purpose!
