Current changes to library services due to the COVID-19 restrictions
There Are Currently No Service Changes
All our branches have now reopened. Please check the location page of your local branch for detailed opening hours.
Please be aware that changes to opening hours may occur at short notice.
Physical Distancing
Please keep your distance from staff and other library patrons. It is recommended that you stay 1.5m away from anyone you don't live with, and greet people with a smile or a wave — don't hug or shake hands. Be patient if waiting in a queue or navigating busy areas — give others space, and ensure you have space, too. Please wear a face mask in situations where you are required to, unless an exemption applies.
Alternate Library Services Still Available
If you are not yet comfortable returning yourself to the library, we will continue to offer alternative library services to you, such as: Click & Collect; Print & Collect; our extensive eLibrary; our Online Programs; and Tech Help via phone.
Opening Hours
Our branches are all open with full opening hours.
Click & Collect
All YPRL branches will continue to offer contactless Click & Collect services for those who would like to pick up their items quickly and easily.
Borrowing
The loan period for most items is 3 weeks, and you can take out up to 30 items per library card.
Cleaning
Regular disinfecting and increased cleaning is taking place at return chutes and on surfaces. All library staff have undertaken additional health and safety training to ensure their safety and yours.
Mobile Library
The Mobile Library is running to its usual timetable and stops.
Return Chutes
All branches have a 24/7 return chute for you to return items.
Community Rooms
All our community rooms are open and can be booked through our Venue Hire system.
