Yarra Plenty Regional Library’s Home Library Service is a free and convenient way for housebound residents to borrow library items. The service is available to anyone who is unable to visit the library branches.
Items are selected to meet each person’s individual interests and needs and delivered directly to their home. A friendly volunteer visits on a monthly basis, bringing library materials – books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and magazines. Players are also available.
Holds can be placed on particular items and delivered upon availability.
The collection also includes:
- Subtitled videos
- Large print books
- Talking books
- Material in 14 different community languages
This service is also available to carers of people with disability or illness who are unable to access a library branch.
We also provide a library service to retirement villages, nursing homes and institutions with an outreach vehicle.
