Branches may be closed, but YPRL brings the library to you

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Yarra Plenty Regional Library branches are closed until it is safe to reopen. However, YPRL is working hard to bring the library to you.

In YPRL’s Your Library At Home program, you’ll find the same great customer service, advice, children’s programs and of course books – but in new and unexpected formats.

Caring Calls in a new initiative that will have librarians calling all YPRL members aged 70+ to have a chat, connect them with essential services and offer tech help. Many of the 5,500 seniors across the Council areas of Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea scheduled to get a phone call will be missing their regular chats with other members of the community.

YPRL also have an extensive digital library of ebooks and audiobooks available for download, plus access to free film and TV streaming services. Not sure where to start? Book Valet is a service connecting members with personalised book and film recommendations.

Children’s programs include Live Storytimes being broadcast daily on Facebook and Homework Help, tutoring assistance for families who are helping their children learn from home.

Customer service, information assistance and technical help is available through initiatives such as Ask A Librarian on social media and the establishment of a Tech Helpline where library staff will assist with your technical queries in real time.

All YPRL library programs are free.
