YPRL branches have now reopened to those who can provide proof of double vaccination. Please note that branches will close at 7.00pm Monday - Thursday (with Whittlesea and Diamond Valley to close earlier on some days).
The Mobile Library has now returned to its normal timetable, route, and services.
Community Art Gallery
Calling all young artists!
YPRL is creating a community gallery to highlight the work of our talented young artists. The gallery will be a free and COVID-safe way for our community to share their creativity.
We are calling for submissions from young people (up to 18 years old) who want to see their art featured in the library. The artworks we receive will be hung in the windows of our library branches for COVID-safe viewing. What’s more, selected artworks in each age category will be displayed on the YPRL website. If your artwork is featured on the website, you will also receive a certificate proclaiming you as a Community Art Champion.
What type of artwork can be submitted?
We welcome any artwork that can be hung in our windows. Drawings, paintings, or mixed media are eligible. Digital artworks, including photography, are also welcome. Just email them to us and our library staff can print them out for display.
How can I submit?
Physical artworks can be dropped off at your local library branch. Make sure to write your full name or library account number on the back of the artwork so we know who to return it to.
Digital artworks can be emailed to YPMail@yprl.vic.gov.au with the subject heading “Community Art Gallery Submission”.
In your email please include:
Your library card number
The artist’s first name
The artist’s age
The title of the artwork
the branch where you would like the artwork displayed.
We will do our best to display your artwork in your chosen branch, but in some cases, we may be limited by available space and COVID safety regulations.
All artworks will be returned to their owners at the end of the gallery program. Our staff will take every precaution to ensure your artworks are taken care of, however, please note that YPRL does not accept liability for lost or damaged items.
