The Booklovers Festival is YPRL’s annual celebration for readers and writers. Showcasing local voices and experiences and playing host to celebrated writers from across Victoria and internationally, the Booklovers Festival gives you the stories behind the stories and feeds your curiosity whether it be through author conversations, a creative workshop, performance, open mic, or something else altogether!
In 2022 we are looking for local artists, writers, or community groups to showcase their own event at the Booklovers Festival. If your event is selected you will work with YPRL staff to bring your event to life as part of the festival. YPRL may choose up to three (3) events to feature.
Some of the types of events we will consider could be projects celebrating local and diverse voices, a workshop, a book launch, performance/open mic, a panel discussion, poetry slam, or a reading event. The Booklovers Festival is primarily aimed at adults however we may include a community event aimed at and organised by Youth audiences.
Expressions of Interest are open to people and groups who either work or live (or have another strong connection) in the Banyule, Nillumbik, and Whittlesea areas or to people and groups who are members of the library service.
The Booklovers Festival will take place the last week of November 2022. EOIs close on 2 September 2022. For more information about the EOI process or the festival please contact the Reading & Literacy Coordinator, Sarah Schmidt, firstname.lastname@example.org
