Executive Manager Public Participation
3 Year Full-Time Senior Officer Contract

Yarra Plenty Regional Library enjoys a reputation as an innovative and industry leading library service with 160 staff, 160 volunteers and 9 library branches across three municipalities, as well as well-established mobile library services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and energetic strategic leader to join the Executive Leadership Team. You will provide inspirational leadership to the Public Participation Department as you facilitate high levels of community engagement and use through strategic and operational management of YPRL’s Branches and promote and deliver engaging activities and services across the region. 

About you

You are a skilled Leader with a strong track record implementing strategies, programs and services, in a public library or community engagement industry.  You have a demonstrated flair for marketing and social media and managing cultural facilities to benefit diverse communities.  You work collaboratively and build productive long-term relationships and partnerships. You lead by example, have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills coupled with a tertiary qualification in a relevant field of study such as Community Cultural Development, Marketing, Business Development or Information Management.

ICT Project Manager

Temporary Full-Time – (9 month contract)
Band 6 – ($85,214 - $94,290) + super

About the role

Working as part of a small and dynamic team, this position will require planning, coordinating and implementing of major ICT projects and initiatives to deliver maximum benefit to YPRL’s staff and community users.

About you

You will hold a degree in IT or a relevant field OR; considerable ICT / project management experience preferably in a public library environment. You will also have a proven ability to develop ICT projects, scope and analyse requirements, coordinate project execution and documentation and report project outcomes as well as demonstrated experience implementing, problem solving and evaluating ICT projects to the ICT Project & Support Coordinator. 

You will have sound knowledge of and experience in ICT systems and procurement processes.  Your ability to work well with others to handle multiple projects with demanding timelines and budgets, together with your excellent skills in adapting and responding to change will ensure success in this position.

The key projects that you will be managing are the implementation of a new Library Management System, new website and new mobile application.  This is a whole of organisation change and will have significant impact for all staff.  Change management planning and staff training will also form part of these projects.  Experience at project management for large system changes will be an advantage.

Library Operations and Technical Officer

70 hours per fortnight.

The Ivanhoe Library and Cultural Hub is a new state of the art community facility due to open in September 2020.  This  new and exciting position for a Library Operations and Technical Officer will deliver excellent customer service, administrative and technical support for public events, functions and meetings, front of house services including assisting gallery, library and hub customers at a shared helpdesk and library main desks,   whilst actively contributing to the positive team environment and to the Library’s role as a place for reading, learning and meeting.  

Our Library Operations and Technical Officer is committed to service excellence and responding to a wide range of customers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a courteous and effective communication style, with strong interpersonal skills to effectively build strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and with people of all ages and backgrounds. The successful incumbent will provide a high level of customer focus, strong technical and administrative skills, venue and event support services experience will be highly regarded. 

This position is permanent full-time, 140 hours per 4 week period to be worked according to a roster.  Regular evening and weekend work is required.

120 hours per 4 week period.

This new and exciting position for a Library Operations Officer who will provide an efficient and effective rostering service, which supports nine branches and mobile library services within the Public Participation Department.

You will have strong time management; high level of accuracy and maintain confidentiality; excellent customer service and administrative skills to ensure your success in this role.  You will act as the point of contact for branch staff relating to rostering and leave requirements.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a courteous and effective communication style, with strong interpersonal skills to effectively nurture and maintain positive working relationships.

This position is permanent part-time, 120 hours per 4 week period to be worked according to a roster.
