YPRL @ Whittlesea Tech School Makers Faire

Whittlesea Tech School’s inaugural Mini Maker Faire was held on the 4th December and attended by upper primary school students from the area, where they had the opportunity to get their hands dirty with science and creative arts activities. Wobble bots, electronic synthesizers, vortex cannons and cryptography were just some of the activities enthusiastically taken up by the hundreds of kids who came along.

YPRL’s Squishy Circuits station was a constant hum of activity as students connected LEDs, buzzers and vibrating magnets into circuits of conductive and insulating dough. Many students started the session with no understanding of how an electrical current flowed out of a battery but were soon scaling up their experiments until we had more than a few LED casualties from overly exuberant circuitry!
