What’s the Austen Project?

Six bestselling contemporary authors have been asked to rewrite Jane Austen’s novels - Sense & Sensibility, Northanger Abbey, Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Persuasion and Mansfield Park - adding their own unique take on Jane Austen’s novels. The Austen Project was launched with Joanna Trollope’s reimagining of Sense & Sensibility in October 2013. Trollope’s version, along with Jane Austen’s original is already available to borrow as an eBook from our Overdrive service.

If you want to know more, Joanna Trollope writes about the project in this article from the UK paper the Daily Mail.

You can read a review published in the UK newspaper the Telegraph here and if you are not sure you can be bothered there is this digested version from The Guardian.
