The Wondrous Society of Reading

After requests from local parents to run a children's book club, The Wondrous Society of Reading Book Club was born. It has been running loosely for six months with fluctuating numbers of children attending.

The facilitators have decided to re-shape the book club into a ... book club. So, what does that mean? It means that we will read a book once a month, so discussion about books is collaborative. It would be nice if the children could finish the book, but it is not imperative. We recommend that a child try the first fifty pages of the book club novel. Then discussion can revolve around why they did or didn't like the book.

If you know of any young readers (9-12yrs) please recommend our book club. We meet on the third Thursday every month at Watsonia Library at 4.30pm. Let's see if we can get the club moving, so if there are any recommendations or improvements please speak to us at Watsonia Library. We are keen to hear your ideas.

The books we have read so far:

The Wizards of Once

Skulduggery Pleasant
