Share the Dignity #ITSINTHEBAG

How can you help others this Christmas in a real, local and meaningful way?

For the second year Diamond Valley Library is participating in the #itsinthebag campaign by Share the Dignity. The aim of the campaign is to help make better the life of a woman or girl experiencing homelessness or poverty.

How can you participate?

  1. Choose a handbag in good condition that you no longer use (or buy one - new or from an opp shop).
  2. Fill it with items that would make a woman feel special and that you know every woman finds useful (or maybe some little luxuries)! Types of items which could be included are: personal care and sanitary items. Relevant items are those little things you need every day, from your toothbrush to your hairbrush. Because nobody should go without life’s little essentials!
You can also add thoughtful note or Christmas card and show her someone cares.
  3. Drop it to Diamond Valley Library or your local Bunnings Warehouse anytime before 7 December.

The campaign runs from Friday 22 November to Saturday 7 December.

There are 85,000 homeless women who need your help this Christmas.

Women in crisis will put the needs of others before themselves, whatever the time of year. Many have fled domestic violence or experienced extreme poverty.

We want to make them feel special. You can help.

It’s simple and it makes a big difference in a woman’s life.

There a three different types of bags you can donate but what you put in them is completely up to you!
