Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?
Aerosmith's Demon of Screamin’ tells it like it is and holds nothing back, which is exactly what you’re looking for in this type of tell-all. He spills on backstage bickering and his antics with guitarist Joe Perry that led to the pair being dubbed the Toxic Twins. But the real surprise here is what an awesomely wacky writer Tyler is – his colourful anecdotes are rich with wordplay and laugh-out-loud witticisms. Although I’ve always enjoyed cranking some Aerosmith in the car now and again I didn’t really have an appreciation for Tyler as an artist and musician until I read this.
Some have complained that this book needs a good edit and that Tyler goes off on too many bizarre tangents – and I admit I was a little apprehensive during the first few pages of his waffling - but once I settled in to the rhythm of the dude’s rants I simply sat back and enjoyed them. Tyler’s writing has a musical quality which I really got into!
