The thought of having to school our kids at home is a very daunting idea for a lot of parents, me included. What will they need to learn? Where do we start? How will this work?
These types of questions are becoming a constant in my head. As a parent of two school-aged children, one in primary and one in secondary, I will need all the help I can get. I know there are many parents who are having the same thoughts and anxious moments as me. So, although we will be getting incredible support from our fantastic schools and teachers, here are some amazing (mostly free) resources we can all use. I hope they help us, and help our kids learn in what is the most challenging of situations. And remember that you are not alone - we are all in this together. YPRL will be doing everything we can to support parents and kids who are making this difficult adjustment.
While some of these resources a paid membership there is also lots of free content too!
Mathletics Resources (Most schools should hopefully be able to provide access to this)
ABC Reading Eggs to Practice and Learn Reading (Like Mathletics a lot of schools use Reading eggs and kids will have their own account they can access at home)
