Recycling Week

In November 1996, Planet Ark founded National Recycling Week to bring a national focus to the environmental benefits of recycling.

Now in its 24th year, this established and highly regarded annual campaign continues to educate and stimulate behaviour change, by promoting kerbside, industrial and community recycling initiatives, and giving people the tools to minimise waste and manage material resources responsibly at home, work and school.

In 2019, Recycling Week runs from 11 – 17 November.

YPRL are running a number of events to encourage recycling and raise awareness during the week including a Pop Up Op Shop at Whittlesea Library, a discussion about how to save money and reuse at Lalor library, a felting workshop designed to arm you with the skills to creatively mend your clothes at Rosanna Library.

Children can get excited about science by using recycled materials in fun experiments, or create an upcycled masterpiece at Lalor Library.

And you can learn how to Recycle Right in City of Whittlesea Council’s informative workshop at Whittlesea and Thomstown Libraries.
