Cultural Diversity Week is Victoria’s largest multicultural celebration and YPRL is proud to celebrate our diverse communities!
Since the traditional owners first inhabited the land, Victoria’s cultural diversity has continued to evolve and shape our identity. Today, almost half of Victorians were either born overseas or have at least one parent who was born overseas. We come from 200 countries, speak over 260 languages and follow more than 130 different faiths.
YPRL has so many great resources and events coming up to celebrate Cultural Diversity Week!
Here are my top recommend resources and events:
- Learn a new language using Transparent Languages Online (ByKi)
- Access our range of language collections
- Research your ancestry. This resource can only be used in the library.
- Vietnamese Costume Show
- Harmony Day Storytime
- Indian Cultural Night
- Holi Festival Celebration
- Mandarin Chinese Classes
Cultural Diversity Week is proudly presented by the Victorian Multicultural Commission, with support from the Victorian Government.
We want to know... Are you multi-lingual? Tell us what languages you can read and/or speak here.
