But then again, it's always good to have more options! We've collected some other fun resources to make sure you have more than enough on hand to get through the winter break.
100 Story Building
You may have met our friends from 100 Story Building at one of our branches running School Holiday Workshops previously. They have some excellent videos you can watch to kick start creativity. How about this Roll a Monster activity? All you need is dice, pen and paper.
You can see the rest of 100 Story Building's videos on their YouTube Channel.
Story Box Library
Story Box is a treasure trove of picture books which allows children and parents to look at a book and listen to a range of celebrated stories read aloud by a diverse range of storytellers with varying accents and from different cultures. Have a look at our handy blog post about how to use your YPRL library card to access this online service.
Make Your Own Ball Run
Need something more active that the whole family can get involved in? How about this activity from Scienceworks? You'll need:
- Some sort of small ball, such as a marble
- Some space on a wall
- Some sticky tape (but be careful with your paint, builders or masking tape works best)
- Any other objects you can find around your house that might help out. Get creative! Cardboard and toilet paper rolls are great, but you should have plenty of objects in your kitchen.
Australia Zoo have loads of wildlife and nature activities for kids with an emphasis on conservation. Download up to nine booklets of activities.
