Should I come to the library?
Based on current advice from the Victorian Government and our member Councils, YPRL is open for business as usual other than our programs, events and outreach services, which have been suspended for 30 days. All nine of our branches and our mobile library remain open.
YPRL's cleaning staff undertake cleaning in accordance with Department of Health recommendations. In addition to the usual scheduled cleaning practices, door handles are being disinfected regularly.
However, as busy community hubs, libraries are places where people can get infected. Please exercise caution and follow health instructions such as cover your cough and sneeze, and wash your hand regularly.
If you are unwell, please seek medical attention and follow the advice of your medical practitioners.
What will we do if someone in the library appears ill or shows signs of coronavirus?
The signs and symptoms of coronavirus are very similar to normal seasonal influenza or the common cold. Please do not assume that every sick person is infected by the coronavirus.
YPRL will continue to monitor the situation and may make changes to our events and services if and when Government advice changes.
