Full STEAM Ahead: Learning Communities are Growing Communities

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skills are critically important for productivity, personal decision making and effective community, national and global citizenship. However, exploring and applying STEM principles in new and innovative ways requires the ability to adapt information and initiate creative solutions. Cue STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) education!

Supporting people of all ages to learn, explore and STEAM disciplines, our communities work together to encourage creative thinking, collaboration and ethical decision making. Schools, libraries, businesses and government entities offer skill development, education and training pathways relevant to our rapidly changing world. Equitable access to integrated science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics information allows deep engagement by participants, equipping them with skills and interest in lifelong learning.

Looking for your next STEAM adventure? Choose from a great selection of sessions and events happening regularly at your local library.

On Saturday 6 October, join us as we transform into community Fun Palaces, bringing communities together through art, craft, science, tech, heritage and sports activities! Visit www.yprl.vic.gov.au/funpalaces for more info.
