Featured Face: Seniors and Volunteers Coordinator Carolyn Jury

We're profiling YPRL's Seniors and Volunteers Coordinator Carolyn Jury this week as it's National Volunteer Week. Carolyn's latest project is Words on Wheels, which was launched in May too.
What do you do in your role?
I am the seniors and volunteers coordinator for YPRL. I coordinate all library volunteers supporting library staff in branches, as well as those involved in library programs. As part of my role I coordinate our new Words on Wheels program, which involves volunteers delivering interactive storytimes in aged care facilities. I also coordinate the Home Library Service, which is a very valuable and well-utilised service where volunteers visit housebound people and bring them library materials.
How long have you worked at YPRL?
I have worked at YPRL almost 3 years
What do you like about working at the library?
I love the versatility and scope of my role, and I really enjoy working with volunteers. I also  work in a very supportive team.
What is your background?
I have a diploma in volunteer management and qualifications in aged care; previously I worked in a similar role with Wesley Do care which was  a social support organisation. Prior to that I was a Tafe trainer, and prior to that a retail buyer for David Jones and Myer.
What are your personal interests?
My interests include animals ( I have 23 pets), exercise, writing and reading.
