Behind the Barricades at Mill Park Library

Mill Park Library is undergoing some exciting renovations. Behind those double doors is a flurry of busy workers.

Do you want a sneak peek? Check out some photos below!

UPDATE: We have just had word that there is a delay with the carpet. And we can't re-open without carpet!

So unfortunately we can't have our big reveal on 8 July as planned. We will now re-open on 22 July!

As you can see the carpet has been ripped up! The two big desks were the first things to go.

Now the columns are transforming - these splashes of coral colour are already brightened the room.

The Children's area!

  • Is getting a new coat of paint
  • The blinds are being fixed
  • Check out the little stage area for storytimes and children's activities?
  • There will even be a space for pram parking!

Chances Cafe - Araluen!

How cool is the cafe looking?

The cafe will not only be serving lovely coffees but they will have an oven so that means... hot food too!

You will be able to grab a muffin or snack with your coffee or lunch food.

Around the place...

The silent study room is gone which really open up the space. Now you can go out the back doors to the beautiful new decking (wouldn't some live music out there be lovely?).

Photo shows the plaster work being done on the ceiling (where the silent study room was previously).

Check out the mock up of the Multimedia Room signage. But more importantly... that coral coloured strip will be around the whole room - really lifting and brightening the whole library, don't you think?
