Every year, Library & Information Week is held during the last week of May Today for the first day of Library & Information Week, the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) has released two lists – one adult and one for children of Australia’s favourite or most borrowed books. Here at Flip the Page we thought we’d go through that list and see what was available to YPRL borrowers as eBooks or eAudiobooks.
Not all publishers make eBooks available to libraries for lending but the second most popular adult title - The Rosie Project is available as an eAudiobook from our Bolinda service and as an eBook from Overdrive. Third and eighth most popular - The Gods of Guilt by Michael Connolly and The Rook by Daniel O'Malley, respectively can be borrowed from Overdrive.
When it comes to the children’s’ titles our Overdrive service has the third most popular series - the Geronimo and Thea Stilton series (22 titles) and the ninth most popular - the Selby series by Duncan Ball (19 titles) available to borrow as eBooks.
Bolinda has the sixth most popular titles in the Just! series by Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton (read by Stig Wemyss) and the seventh, Once by Morris Gleitzman as eAudiobooks.
And finally the tenth most popular book on the children’s list The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne (actually a young adult novel) is available from Overdrive as an eBook.
