5 THINGS you didn’t expect to find in a Library!

  1. Robotics and VR
    Not only does the library have regular code clubs, robotics workshops and virtual reality activities but a Lalor Library you can actually take some of this tech home!

  2. Sewing Machines
    That's right there are sewing machines at Thomastown Library that you are welcome to use as part of their Textile and Craft Maker Space. There are even regular sewing classes.

  3. Freshly made coffee
    Did you know that Chancez Cafe is in Mill Park Library (Mondays and Tuesdays) and they have set up a mini coffee cart at Diamond Valley Library (Tuesday and Friday mornings)? Let's not forget the amazing coffee cart run by Thomastown Neighbourhood House at Thomastown Library too! Beautifully made and affordable coffee while you relax.
    There are also some quality coffee places a very short walk from Eltham Library, Ivanhoe Library, Lalor Library, Rosanna Library and Watsonia Library! Whittlesea Library even has a pod machine that you are welcome use.

  4. Hands-on design classes
    The Design Maker Space at Ivanhoe Library has the Adobe Creative Suite available on their PCs and regularly runs classes on Illustrator, photoshop, 3D printing and laser cutting.

  5. Reading Dogs
    Our Doggy Tales Program helps to improve a child's reading communication skills and builds self esteem. Reluctant readers can come and read to our friendly reading dogs after school.
