Requests made by library users for items not held in the collection are considered for purchase. Each request is assessed for inclusion in the collection based on the Collection Development Policy and the current year’s Specifications.  The majority of suggested requests are purchased.

To assist you, we have provided a brief description of what we may purchase:

Books:

• Current and popular fiction titles
• Classic and favourite fiction titles
• Incomplete series titles
• Current non-fiction titles for recreational and leisurely reading

DVDs:

• Popular and current documentaries
• Family movies
• Children’s movies and TV series
• ABC, BBC, SBS series
• Commercial films and series with a literary basis or industry award winners

Magazines:

Magazine subscriptions are renewed annually in October. Suggestions for new magazine titles will be reviewed during this period. Many popular magazine titles are now available online.

Music:
 

To enhance our music collections, most suggestions for purchase are approved.
