Poetry competition finale - Eltham library

We had a great response to the inaugral poetry competition held at the Eltham Library. Lots of entries from all age groups, diverse in topic and style. Winners were announced on February 15 amid glasses of bubbly and chocolates when quite a few shared their poetry piece with the group. Bookaroo is Back!

Bookaroo is a one-off session for parents with newborns about the importance of reading to babies. It is an information session with a few songs in-between to keep us all alert and happy. A free board book is provided upon joining your child at Watsonia Library. These sessions are held every second Tuesday of the month at 10.30am. A visit from WildlifeXposure

Big bugs, small bugs, creepy crawlies with six legs, with eight legs and even with ten legs were to be seen and touched at the Diamond Valley Library this morning. Xavier, from Wildlifexposure (Warrandyte) provided us with an informative and exciting display and talk of insects and other bugs. We made dirt to eat!

We had great fun making dirt in a cup on Friday 20 Jan. How did we make it? We mixed chocolate instant pudding mix with milk, then fold in some whipped cream. We crushed chocolate biscuits in a plastic bag, using a rolling pin. We made grass by stirring green food colouring through desiccated coconut. Then we layered the biscuit crumbs with the pudding mixture . . . more »
