You’ll be sure to find some haunted book displays around our branches leading up to Halloween this October to fill your horror craving, our collection of horror books and DVDs isn’t where the fun ends though!
If you’re a paranormal enthusiast and are eager to really get into the Halloween spooky spirit, then we recommend you check out the Libraries After Dark: A Haunting Night at the lovely Mill Park Library on the 27th of October – share your own dark tales, photos and recordings, as well as discuss famous cases and stories!

Trick-or-treating can be excellent fun for the whole family, and your costumes don’t have to be scary – you can dress up as whatever you would like to be for Halloween! But if you’re having trouble coming up with ideas, here is a list of book character costume ideas sure to please our bibliophiles:

There are also many characters from Fantastic Mr Fox one could take their costume inspiration from - the iconic 'bandit masks' from the movie in particular would be easy and fun to DIY at home, using any old items of clothing or fabrics around the home!
